BOYS AND MEN OF COLOR CORPORATE ADVISORY BOARD

ideateLABs is pleased to work with the California Assembly Select Committee to on the Status of Boys and Men of Color to advance the needs of young Black, Latino, API and Native American youth.

OBJECTIVES

Develop Set of Principles focused on increasing opportunities for BMoC including but not limited to:

  • Develop Set of Principles focused on increasing opportunities for BMoC with new: Hiring Policies, Pipeline/Pathways, Exposure, Work Based Learning opportunities, Mentorship and Policy Development.

  • Collect and Disseminate relevant data to improve the disaggregation of workforce data; collect workforce statistics on BMoC; and provide Job Growth Projections of BMoC by geographic areas; provide Funding opportunities.

  • Coordinate BMoC site visits focused on emerging markets in: Aerospace, Tech, Sports, Finance, and Media.

  • Coordinate BMoC days to expose youth to workforce opportunities: Bus youth from impacted areas and connect with Alliance for Boys and Men of Color.

  • Coordinate BMoC work based learning opportunities by working with school districts/community colleges.

  • Develop a public relations strategy to highlight Corporate Advisory Baord work. Plan a media strategy around site visits; Share information from CAB meetings; Highlight WBL opportunities through media and Share funding opportunities through media.
